Château Arrogant Chardonnay

Within a couple of years, Arrogant Frog has made itself the mascot of our Estates. The humble winemaker shows that with creativity, know-how and a sense of humour, one can make Southern Franch wines shine around the world and give pure pleasure, at a reasonable price! Arrogant Frog represents our South of France “Art de Vivre”. Château Arrogant Frog is made out of 20 hectares (50 acres) in the Limoux grand cru. The Arrogant Frog cuvées are Château Arrogant Frog, Arrogant Frog reserve, as well as single varietal or blends.

Soil type : Clay and limestone with gravels

– Sugar : 2 g/l
– Total Acidity: 3,5 g/l
– pH : 3,6

 

Vinification
No skin contact, Bucher pneumatic press. Juice selection is done at the press. Slow fermentation in oak at low temperature (16°C). 60% of the wine does the malolactic fermentation in oak barrels and then 100% of the wine is aged in oak barrels (1/3 of the barrels are new oak and 2/3 are 2 years old) during 9 months. Half of the oak is French, the other half American.

Tasting Notes
Colour : Gold colour
Nose : Intense and complex, with brioche, nut and pineapple aromas, together with lime-blossom and quince notes.
Palate : Light but full-bodied, rich, wonderful length.
Cellaring : During the first 4 years you will enjoy fruits notes which will then evolve to more pride flavours. You can conserve it for 5 years in good cellaring conditions.
Food pairing : This wine has character and can be savoured anytime in the day. Ideal served at 10°C with fishes, seafood or shellfish. Excellent with goat cheese, old Cantal or Foie Gras.
